The South East is the gateway to Britain.
Its close proximity to the continent has attracted investment and new industries over recent years. The need for improved and faster transport has resulted in construction sites the like of which is rarely experienced elsewhere.
With this expansion came the need to appoint specialists in a wide range of health and safety disciplines and as a consequence IOSH South East Branch has grown to become a forum for discussion and a focus for the sharing of professional knowledge and understanding.
IOSH South East Branch covers all of Kent and parts of Surrey, Sussex and parts of South London. It recently reduced its geographical size and overall membership when IOSH South Downs Branch was formed. We are proud to have been part of the joint venture in playing an instrumental part in the creation of this new and successful Branch.
The effect of our reduced size means that for many more members travelling great distances is not so much a problem as it was previously.
Monthly meetings normally take place at the University of Greenwich at King Hill West Malling. Meetings start at 6.30pm normally on the second Tuesday of the month. Directions to King Hill can be found in meeting location.
The programme of events includes at least one meeting and visit to a place of local interest. We welcome ideas and offers for such venues from members for new and interesting locations. If you work at or know of such a venue please contact us.
A straw poll survey amongst members held at a recent meeting indicated that a major reason for attending branch meetings was to network with other like-minded professionals in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
So if you are looking for a new job, interested in views on a range of subjects why not come along and join in? We provide refreshments from 6 pm on meeting nights and it is free! Check out our events in our programme.
